Since 1897, customers have enjoyed travel on America’s first subway – the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority – referred to as the “T”. A variety of coins and tokens have been used throughout the past 100 years, from the Miss Liberty nickel to the brass token of 1951. In recent years, more than 80 million T tokens were sold annually. In January 2006 the T began using the “Charlie Card” and phasing out the use of tokens. Get your memento before they’re all gone! Please allow for slight variation in tokens, as they may have slight nicks and uneven wear due to several years in circulation.
