About This Item

Inspired by a 16th century Italian textile in the Textile and Fashion Arts Collection at the MFA, this woven tie has a pattern of small leaves and gold slashes. The original fragment, possibly a cushion, is red silk satin embroidered with gilt-metallic thread.
