About This Item

This figure is a replica of a marble sculpture of the Chalandriani variety. Several of this type were found in a cemetery at Chalandriani on the island of Syros, Greece. The arms are folded, the left above the right; the legs and toes are indicated by incised lines. A similar line runs down the back from between the shoulders to the division of the feet.
